Powerlifting Update – March 2026

HUGE Tiger Pride! Three Anson athletes are heading to State!

Powerlifting State Qualifiers

  • Amia Jaramillo (Girls 220 lb class)
  • Alex Garza (Boys 220 lb class)
  • Alijah Lozano (Boys 220 lb class)

Amia Jaramillo Spotlight - Amia Jaramillo represented the Lady Tigers at the THSWPA Girls State Powerlifting Championships in Edinburg, Texas (March 18th, 2026)! She earned her spot after an outstanding 2nd-place finish at Regionals with a total of 875 lbs:

  • Squat: 345 lbs
  • Bench Press: 195 lbs
  • Deadlift: 335 lbs

Alex Garza Spotlight  - Alex Garza qualified for the THSPA Boys State Powerlifting Championships after a strong 3rd-place finish at Regionals with a total of 1475 lbs:

  • Squat: 545 lbs
  • Bench Press: 445 lbs
  • Deadlift: 485 lbs

Alijah Lozano Spotlight - Alijah Lozano qualified for the THSPA Boys State Powerlifting Championships after a solid 4th-place finish at Regionals with a total of 1360 lbs:

  • Squat: 470 lbs
  • Bench Press: 385 lbs
  • Deadlift: 505 lbs

The Boys State meet is March 27–28 in Abilene. We’ll update all placements and lifts right here the moment they’re posted!

Baseball & Softball Update – March 2026

HUGE Tiger Pride! Here are the current Varsity records for Anson ISD (as of March 17, 2026, via official MaxPreps standings):

Varsity Baseball

  • Overall Record: 3-4
  • District Record: 0-2 (district play just getting started)

Varsity Softball (Lady Tigers)

  • Overall Record: 10-5
  • District Record: 3-0 (currently 1st in district)

The Lady Tigers are on a nice 4-game win streak, including big recent wins like 21-0 over TLCA, 12-2 over Stamford, and 7-3 over Hawley.

Anson Easter Egg Hunt – April 2026

Community Event Spotlight

Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time: 10:30 AM CDT (sharp – age groups hunt in waves)

Location: Anson City Park / Baseball Field (2231 Avenue G, Anson, TX)
Hosted by: City of Anson, Texas (with support from the Anson Chamber of Commerce)

Details:
Free for all kids!
Separate hunts by age group (bring your own basket)
Golden eggs with special prizes
Lots of eggs, fun, and family-friendly activities

This is THE big Easter event for Anson and Jones County families — a great way to get the kids outside and enjoy the community before Easter Sunday!
